Placed 1st in the fencing in the semi finals of the Youth A World Championships.

Simon Barrett

D.O.B: 22nd August 2003

Hometown: Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin.

Background: 

Pony club and swimming.

Greatest achievement/ Personal best:

National champion Youth D, Youth C and Youth B. Junior Tetrathalon Champion 2017 and 2018.

Combined.

 

Leah O’Neill

D.O.B: 12th April 2001

Hometown: Quin, Co.Clare

Background:

I have two older sisters and we have always had ponies at home. I started in the pony club with the minimus and the tetrathlon, and I fell in love with the sport. I branched into pentathlon when I was 15 and have been training and competing for the last 3 years. I compete regularly in Running and swimming competitions throughout the year, and I have a great love for my sport.

Greatest achievement/ Personal best:

In October 2017, Leah came 2nd in the Youth B U17 Olympic hopefuls competition in Prague. This was her first big individual medal. She has also won the Youth A U19 National championships.

Outside of Pentathlon Leah placed 8th in the National Cross Country Championships, 2017 representing her running club, Ennis Track.  She has also won the Senior girls national Tetrathlon championships in 2017.

Hometown: Aberdeen, Scotland

Background:

I started competing in Modern Pentathlon events at the age of 12 after many years of competing in Pony Club Tetrathlon events.

Greatest achievement/ Personal Best:

European U19 Champion and Team Silver at Senior European Championships

Favorite event:

Running, shooting and horse riding… I can’t decide which one!
