SPORTING BACKGROUND: I have competed at county level in swimming, athletics and cross country as well as representing my school at hockey, netball and tennis.  I started pentathlon through Pony Club but concentrated on fencing from 2006-2012 fencing internationally at U17, U20, U23 and Senior level to World Championship level.  I returned to my first love pentathlon in 2013 whilst in the final year of my Geography & Sports Science degree.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS: Represented Ireland at Senior European Championships and World Championships in 2014.

Selected as part of Irish team travelling to Senior World Championships and Senior European Championships this year 2015.

HOW/WHEN YOU STARTED Modern Pentathlon: I competed at Modern Pentathlon from 2004-2006 having been drawn into the sport through Pony Club and then picked up the sport again in 2013 at senior level.  I enjoy the multi-sport environment and the ability to constantly challenge your own personal best results.

SPORTING HERO’S:  Until I was 13 I wanted to be a ballerina so my ‘sporting hero’ when I was young was Darcey Bussell. I haven’t really had one since then.

FAVOURITE EVENT: Riding and in training swimming

SUPERSTITIONS: None – you just have to realise that you can only do your best and be responsible for your own performance – you have no control over how others might perform on the day – sometimes you win and sometimes you lose but you learn something from every competition.
