World Class High Performance System

Overall Goal

To create a High Performance system that is capable of supporting athletes competing at a world class level

Target/KPIs

  • Olympic medal prospects in 2028 and 2032
  • Male and Female athlete consistently in the Top 20 World Rankings
  • Achieve top six at least once a year in UIPM Category A event (World Cup, World Champs, Continental Champs) (male or female)
  • 3 carded athletes

How will we get there – Our priority breakthrough initiatives

  1. Engage and retain world-class level coaches working with our HP athletes
  2. Create excellent daily performance environment and culture
  3. Establish clear performance standards across programmes
  4. Ensure agreements in place to access fit for purpose facilities
  5. Add Obstacle Course

Pathway Programme

Overall Goal

Build a focused Pathway Programme to develop the potential of athletes and provide tailored support and development to enable them achieve their potential to become world-class athletes

Target/KPIs

  • Pathway Programme established to develop high potential athletes (male and female)
  • 2-4 new HP potential athletes (male and/or female) recruited per annum
  • Level appropriate Performance Plans for all Pathway athletes in place
  • Obstacle equipment (Frame, Salmon Ladder) in place

How will we get there – Our priority breakthrough initiatives

  1. Develop and launch Pathway Programme
  2. Develop performance templates and create plans for athletes in the HP & Pathway programme

Intro to Pentathlon Initiative

Overall Goal

Create an Intro to Pentathlon initiative to identify, target and recruit potential HP athletes to Pentathlon

Target/KPIs

  • 10 new athletes per annum
  • Talent recruitment events
  • Obstacle events established

How will we get there – Our priority breakthrough initiatives

  1. Create recruitment strategy and events programme to recruit new athletes
  2. Develop Obstacle events to attract new recruits to Pentathlon

Working in Partnership

Overall Goal

To foster effective strategic partnerships that add value and enable us to achieve our objectives

Target/KPIs

  • Partnership agreement in place with ‘discipline’ NGBs
  • Knowledge sharing and training partnerships in place with 3-4 countries

How will we get there – Our priority breakthrough initiatives

  1. Engage with NGBs to develop partnership agreements
  2. Identify and agree potential training partnerships with other countries/athletes

Business Model

Overall Goal

To create a sustainable business model to underpin our activities

Target/KPIs

  • 20%+ of revenue self-generated
  • Governance model rating high (as determined by Sport Ireland)
  • Maintain/increase government funding

How will we get there – Our priority breakthrough initiatives

  1. Increase member revenue
  2. Identify new revenue stream opportunities (Sponsorship, Events e.g. Obstacle Events, Corporate Days, Philanthropy)
  3. Secure High-Performance funding for athletes and programme
